News Polygon Announces Event Driven Messaging Event Driven Messaging Drives Accountability and Promotes Collaboration Among Users, Management, Vendors and Customers Baltimore, MD -- February 1, 2006 -- Polygon Software, the first developer to combine Product Data Management (PDM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) into a single solution for small to mid-sized manufacturers, today announced the addition of event-driven messaging to its flagship product, PolyPM. The addition of this new technology for PolyPM’s solutions for flexible manufacturing and the soft-goods industries provides the glue that creates a working environment in which users are accountable for their actions and collaboration among players increases exponentially. The new release of PolyPM enables dramatic improvements in communication between users, management, vendors, and customers by automatically generating messages when specific events take place. Each customer identifies the events that should generate messages, which can be delivered either through PolyPM’s internal messaging system or by email. Once a user receives a message, it can be acted on, postponed, or dismissed. Messages can be generated when any status changes, documents are registered in the document vault or for activities tied to a specific date or time. “Messaging saves users a tremendous amount of time, helps avoid errors and improves work flow through the system,” said Louis Wohlmuth, Polygon’s President. “For example, when a product document is completed, the messaging system automatically informs a supervisor to check the document. Before messaging, it would be necessary for a worked to remember to tell their supervisor that the task was completed. What happens when the worker forgets? Plus, PolyPM messaging plays into our scheduling system. When a task isn’t completed by a specified time, a message is automatically generated to the appropriate person. This helps people to be accountable for their actions and greatly improves the flow of information for complex development and production processes. ” About Polygon Software Polygon Software has a long and prestigious history of developing advanced software applications for apparel manufacturers. Starting in the 1970’s, the founders of Polygon developed the first CAD/CAM system for apparel manufacturers, the AM-1. Today this system is the worlds leading apparel CAD/CAM system marketed by Gerber Technology. In the 1980’s Polygon introduced PolyNest, the first open apparel CAD/CAM software running under Microsoft Windows. PolyNest revolutionized the way apparel CAD was distributed by enabling end-users to acquire their software and hardware from multiple sources. The introduction of PolyPM transforms the way small to mid-sized manufacturers operate, by providing information technology that previously was only available to the “big-guys”, in a system that let’s users independently customize their system to reflect their business practices.
